Our clients approached us after purchasing a Colonial-inspired home in Bedford, New York, just a short drive from our historic home in Upstate New York. Excited by the home's potential, we set out to transform it while preserving its character.

To enhance its historic feel, we installed new copper gutters, a wooden shingle roof, and freshly painted porch, along with refinished floors, an updated front door, and renovated bathrooms. The kitchen was reimagined with a new layout, including a redesigned island and improved lighting, resulting in a sophisticated farmhouse aesthetic. We also introduced a new mudroom and pantry, relocating the laundry area to the first floor to create a welcoming space for daily tasks.

Throughout the home, we updated the bathrooms, with the luxurious primary bath featuring a soaking tub and a marble walk-in shower as standout elements. The new dressing room includes custom cabinetry adorned with botanical prints, while the home office, located on the second floor, showcases dramatic 1800s arched doors and our custom cabinetry in dark blue. We designed cozy key rooms, including a library with scenic wallpaper and cabinetry featuring hand-painted illustrations, creating the perfect setting for reading by the fire.

Drawing inspiration from the surrounding greenery, we incorporated botanical textiles, blending classic British, American Shaker, and mid-century modern Swedish designs for a timeless and collected look. The home is now filled with antique paintings, custom stair runners, statement wallpaper, and layered floral fabrics, all crafted with warm materials like wool, wood, rush weaving and a mix of custom furniture we designed alongside timeless vintage furniture.
