Set within a light-filled 2,000-square-foot apartment by Annabelle Selldorf, our Greenwich Village project explores how thoughtful interventions can transform a restrained architectural envelope into a layered, highly personal home.
Our scope focused on developing a comprehensive furniture plan, architectural interventions, custom millwork and storage, and integrating new lighting throughout to bring warmth and dimension to the space. We introduced sculptural pendants and sconces, reworked uninspired areas like the hallway, and designed bespoke elements—including a custom bed with integrated nightstands, a media console with concealed television, and a custom vinyl and DJ console—that support the client’s daily rituals of entertaining, listening to music, and working from home. Each move was calibrated to improve the home’s flow, maximize functionality, and create a sense of ease between spaces.
The interiors draw on a playful mix of mid-century American and Italian modernism, informed by the work of Charles and Ray Eames, as well as the expressive forms of Alexander Calder and the cinematic sensibility of Jacques Tati.
A vibrant yet controlled material palette—colored and cast glass, chrome, dimensional ceramic tile, walnut burl, and Calacatta Monet—creates depth and tactility alongside moments of saturated color. Throughout, scale, proportion, and sightlines were carefully considered to create a sense of movement and discovery. The result is a collected, artful interior that feels both fresh and timeless. It’s a creative home designed for both comfort and connection.
